SLEEP IN A SWAN ECO-LABELLED BED WITH A CLEAR CONSCIENCE
All of the materials in our beds are carefully chosen, from a quality, comfort and environmental point of view. The Talalay latex that we use in our top mattresses is of the finest quality and is Öko-Tex approved. It is important for us that we only use organic cotton, free from dangerous fire protection and colouring agents. All of our beds are Swan eco-label environmentally approved. This means that we fulfil the Swan eco-label criteria with regard to environmental influence during the bed’s lifetime.
No wood to make the beds can come from protected forests and the wood must come from environmentally approved sustainable forestry operations.
NORDIC ECOLABEL OR "SWAN"
In addition, at least 30% must come from certified sustainable forestry operations, where an independent party has confirmed that the forestry operation follows the strict guidelines and that replanting is being carried out. The metal we use in our beds is at least 50% recycled, which reduces energy consumption and emissions that would otherwise come from metal production.
That way we are reducing the bed’s affect on the environment. We act in consideration for the environment all the way from the forest to the bedroom.
Even when the bed’s life is over, the affect on the environment should be as low as possible. Our Swan eco-labelled beds are of the highest quality throughout and stand for environmental protection and a sustainable consumption. You can sleep in a Carpe Diem bed with a clear conscience.
Demonstrates that a product is a good environmental choice. The "Swan" symbol, as it is known in Nordic countries, is available for 65 product groups. The Swan checks that products fulfill certain criteria using methods such as samples from independent laboratories, certificates and control visits. Each Nordic country has local offices with the responsibility for criteria development, control visits, licensing and marketing. In Denmark Nordic Ecolabel is administered by Ecolabelling Denmark at Danish Standards Foundation, in Sweden by Ecolabelling Sweden AB, in Finland by Finnish Standards, in Norway by The Foundation for Ecolabelling, and in Iceland by the The Environment Agency that operates under the direction of the Ministry for the Environment.
